Assistant Product Manager (Job Code: SC13386)

    Summary:

  • A member of the Product Core Team, manage Memory and Server Products through their entire life cycle until product EOL.
  • Development of new technology overview, product positioning statement, sales training materials, feature & function benefit summaries, FAQs, etc
  • Coordination of operational activities associated with the introduction of a new product worldwide, and Factory Product Readiness
  • Represent WW Operations from a product perspective
  • Facilitate plans and strategies based on product plans and roadmaps.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and abide by all Company policies in the latest revision of the Employee Handbook
  • Comply with all terms and conditions of any applicable employment agreement.
  • Experience with (DIMM) Memory Modules, SSD and Server/Work Station Applications.
  • Demonstrated strong organization and planning skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to successfully work in cross-functional organizations and impacts to schedules
  • Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Ability to lead extended teams and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of PC and Server/Work Station market trends and Supermicro customer needs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills), and ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of DIMMS, SSD, Server/Work Station systems, PC systems, computer peripheral and services is required.  (insert duties and responsibilities)
  • Drive new product introduction.
  • Utilize metrics to improve new product introduction and product sales.
  • Create product specifications and positioning documents, conduct tactical competitive analysis, and critical situation management.
  • Define requirements for product enhancements
  • Serve as third level sales support
  • Demonstrate an advanced ability to translate product technologies into customer benefits.

    Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience
  • Prefer a BSEE/MSEE plus 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent BSEE with 5-7 years relevant professional experience
  • Language skills
  • English (Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese is a plus)
  • Mathematical Skills
  • College-level or better mathematic skills
  • Reasoning Ability
  • College-level or better reasoning abilities
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Technical certifications in related IT fields are a plus

    Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to input data into a computer and work with a computer screen for long periods of time. 
  • Occasional bending and standing. 
  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms.
  • Lift, carry, push and pull up to 15 pounds.
