(NASDAQ:QLGC - news), the leader in enclosure management solutions with over 90 percent market share, announced today that its GEM354 enclosure management chip is now shipping in Supermicro's SuperServer 8050, one of the fastest quad Pentium® III Xeon(TM) servers on the market today.

Featuring 16GB of SDRAM system memory, 931MB/sec PCI I/O bandwidth and Ultra160 SCSI support, the Supermicro SuperServer 8050 delivers the performance and speed demanded by today's e-business world as well as a combination of advanced technology and pricing.

Designed for both Fibre Channel and SCSI environments, the QLogic GEM354 Enclosure Management controller monitors and controls the physical environment within server and storage enclosure environments. The GEM354 detects the presence or absence of functional disk drives, power supplies and fans, and monitors the temperature within the enclosure.
