Supermicro Introduces the World's Finest 1U Dual/Single Processor Server Series

San Jose, CA., Oct. 18, 2000 - Super Micro Computer, Inc., a leading Internet Server Solution Provider, today announced the release of the world's finest 1U Dual/Single Processor Servers to market: the SuperServer 6010 and 5010 series. Implementing the newest technologies into system design, these 1U servers demonstrate technical superiority second to none.

The SuperServer 6010H outperforms any 1U thin server available in the market today. Utilizing dual Intel 370 FCPGA Pentium III processors up to 1GHz, ServerWorks ServerSetTM III HE-SL chipset supporting a maximum of 4GB of two-way interleave PC133/100 SDRAM, 64/32-bit 66/33 MHz PCI bus, Adaptec's Ultra 160 dual channel SCSI and Intel's dual 82559 NIC network interface capability make this product the best choice for today's high computing density, 24/7 e-business applications especially where space-saving is a major concern.

Along with the SuperServer 6010H, Supermicro introduces its SuperServer 6010L to further increase the cost effectiveness of their Dual Processor Servers. Similar in architecture and design, the 6010L Server features ServerWorks ServerSetTM III LE chipset and a 64/32-bit 33 MHz PCI bus, providing the best standard 1U Dual Processor Server features in the industry.

In addition to 1U Dual Processor Servers, Supermicro introduces its 1U Single Processor Servers-the SuperServer 5010H/E series at the same time. Featuring Intel® 815E chipset, 32-bit 33 MHz PCI bus, Adaptec's Ultra 160 dual channel SCSI, with Intel's 82559 and Kinnereth+ Ethernet controllers, the SuperServer 5010H offers cutting-edge technology and upgradability for cost sensitive IT dedicated platforms. To increase the cost effectiveness further, Supermicro has trimmed off the onboard SCSI adapter from the SuperServer 5010E without compromising networking capability and interfacing functionality. The SuperServer 5010H and 5010E offer the best performance to price ratio for entry-level server applications.

Further enhancing server manageability and system performance of the SuperServer 6010 and 5010 series, Supermicro implements Console Redirection Architecture, PXE Management, and dual onboard LAN features into its server design. These leading edge technologies enable IT professionals to quickly and easily populate dense rack configurations providing computing power up to 84 Pentium III - 1GHz processors in a single rack. Utilizing dual onboard LAN controllers, the SuperServer 6010 and 5010 series provide excellent Fault Tolerance, Fast Ethernet and Adaptive Load Balancing solutions for broad-bandwidth network environments. These rich features result in an extremely powerful, reliable and cost effective sever solution for today's e-business market. PXE and Console Redirection dramatically decrease system installation and maintenance time while simplifying system debugging. Other key benefits are reduced cost and number of input/output devices, which increases system availability and reliability.

In today's mission critical e-commerce world, server downtime can be costly and detrimental to a company's bottom-line goals. Supermicro offers 24/7 Worldwide Server Technical Services. Supermicro's customers, from any corner of the globe can access their professional Technical Support Team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
