Supermicro Is The First "Tualatin" Solutions Provider In The world!
San Jose, CA (June 22, 2001) - Supermicro, a leading server solutions and motherboard manufacturer in the Silicon Valley, announced today the first complete line of "Tualatin" server systems and motherboards in the world. The line is designed to support Intel's family of Pentium III processors, and the newly released "Tualatin" processor which ramps up to speeds of 1.13+GHz and consumes less electrical power. Supermicro's "Tualatin" solutions include five new server systems and eleven new motherboards. Having a 512K L2 cache, the "Tualatin" processor dramatically increases speed and performance in dual processor server environments.
Dubbed as "Universal Motherboards" because they support the higher speed "Tualatin" processors as well as the earlier Pentium III CPUs, Supermicro's new motherboard offerings are designated as the P3T series. These "universal motherboards" will be used for server system, workstation and desktop applications.
Charles Liang, Supermicro's President and CEO, said, "Eight of the eleven "universal motherboards" support dual processors, providing high density computing capability. In combination with Supermicro's 1U, 2U, and 4U rackmount chassis, end users will find an exact fit for their server requirements, and will be able to optimize their resources.”
The combination of Supermicro's P3T series motherboards and chassis solutions has resulted in the introduction of three 1U rackmount servers and two 2U rackmount servers, that present to the user the best price/performance ratio available today. The 6011H, 6011D, & 6011L feature highly optimized and efficient cooling solutions as well as the best engineered 1U chassis in the industry. The motherboards for these servers are the P3TDER, P3TDDR, and the P3TDLR respectively. The DER & DLR are ServerWorks chipset-based motherboards utilizing SDRAM memory modules, whereas the DDR features support for the "new generation" DDR RAM, (double data rate) memory.
Supermicro's 2U-optimized server solutions include the 6021H which also utilizes the P3TDER, and the 6021I which supports the P3TDDE, a motherboard which has drawn highly favorable industry reviews. Supermicro servers have earned a reputation for rock-solid stability and high reliability, which mean high availability to end-users. In addition, Supermicro's extensive line of server models allows the end-users to select a more optimized solution to meet their particular requirements. Always finely tuned, Supermicro products routinely deliver the highest computer throughputs in the industry as well as routinely introduce new technologies with the earliest time to market.
Supermicro has been producing high performance motherboards for over seven years and has now firmly established its reputation for high-end, high-reliability server solutions and motherboards, by becoming the very first manufacturer in the world to announce complete and comprehensive "Tualatin" solutions for servers and motherboards The new Supermicro motherboard model numbers for dual "Tualatin" are: P3TDL3, P3TDLE, P3TDLR, P3TDDR, P3TDDE, P3TDDA, P3TDE6, and P3TDER. For single "Tualatin" the model numbers are P3TSSR, P3TSSA and P3TSDA.
