Supermicro Shipping ServerWorks™ GC-LE™ Chipset-based Motherboards in Production Volume
Supermicro's Quick Time-to-Market Beats the Competition

SAN JOSE, CA. May 29, 2002 –Super Micro Computer, Inc., a leader in the design and manufacture of motherboards and server solutions, continues to be the sole manufacturer to ship motherboards based on ServerWorks’ new GC-LE core logic. The GC-LE, specifically designed for the two-way server market, supports two Intel Xeon processors of up to 2.40GHz with a 512K L2 cache and features dual memory channels that support up to 16GB of DDR-200 SDRAM. SuperMicro was the first company to deliver GC-LE solutions to the market and continues to be the only to ship in large volume. SuperMicro credits its team of highly skilled Silicon Valley- based engineers for enabling this Industry-leading introduction.

The Supermicro Intel Xeon processor solutions based on the ServerWorks GC-LE chipset have been available since February. They are the P4DL6, P4DLR and P4DLR+.

Supermicro Super P4DL6
The Super P4DL6 has been shipping in quantity since the first week of March. Features include: support for dual Intel® Xeon™ processors up to 2.40GHz, ServerWorks GC-LE chipset, Hyper-Threading technology enabled, supports up to 16GB of two-way, interleaved DDR-200 SDRAM, 400MHz System Bus, Adaptec 2 channel Ultra160 SCSI (zero-channel Raptor RAID optional), one Gb and one 100Mb Fast Ethernet ports, an integrated ATI Rage XL 8MB PCI graphics controller, one 64-bit PCI-X-133 slot, four 64-bit PCI-X-100MHz slots, one 64-bit PCI-X-66 slot, and support for Windows or Linux.

Supermicro Super P4DLR
The Super P4DLR has been shipping in quantity since the first week of March. Features include: support for dual Intel® Xeon™ processors up to 2.40GHz, ServerWorks GC-LE chipset, Hyper-Threading technology enabled, supports up to 12GB of two-way, interleaved DDR-200 SDRAM, 400MHz System Bus, Adaptec 2 channel Ultra160 SCSI (zero-channel Raptor RAID optional), two 100Mb Fast Ethernet ports, an integrated ATI Rage XL 8MB PCI graphics controller, one 64-bit PCI-X-133 slot, one IMB slot for riser cards, and support for Windows or Linux.

SuperMicro Super P4DLR+
The Super P4DLR+ has been shipping in quantity since the first week of March. The P4DLR+ was optimized for use in 1U rackmount systems. It shares the same features as the P4DLR with the exception of: supports 8GB of two-way, interleaved DDR-200 SDRAM in 25-degree slots, and no IMB slot.
