Supermicro Shows Off Twelve 3.06/3.0 GHz Server/Workstation Boards at CeBIT
Most Comprehensive Line in Industry Provides Unparalleled, Ultra-fast Data Processing
March 11, 2003 – Super Micro Computer, Inc., a
leader in the design and manufacture of server solutions and motherboards,
will be displaying its Intel® E7501 and E7505 chipset-based
server and workstation boards at the annual CeBIT show in Hannover,
Germany. The most comprehensive line of E7501/E7505 products in
the industry offers a variety of cutting-edge features and supports
Intel Corporation’s newest and fastest Intel® Xeon® DP
processors. Supermicro is located in Hall 22, Stand B14, Booth A9-A12.
"The channel’s response to our E7501 and E7505-chipset serverboards
has been overwhelming", notes Wally Liaw, the International Sales
VP at Supermicro. "The rich feature set and extensive range of the
product line makes them attractive for a wide range of applications.
In addition, the economic climate of today is highlighting the importance
of price to performance ratios, where SuperMicro has always led
the industry. IT directors have become acutely aware of this and
there has been a steady increase in orders as a result."
All boards in the E7501 line support dual Intel Xeon processors
with clock speeds up to 3.06/3.0 GHz at a 533/400 MHz front side
bus for lightening-fast processing, dual Gigabyte Ethernet LAN ports,
at least 12 GB DDR SDRAM, integrated graphics and an IPMI 1.5 (Intelligent
Management Platform Interface) socket that enables comprehensive,
remote web-based management. The high-end serverboards in the lineup
include AIC- 7902 dual channel Ultra320 SCSI controllers, Zero Channel
RAID support and dual PCI bridge controllers for ultra high PCI-X
bandwidth. Models include the X5DP8-G2, X5DPE-G2, X5DPi-G2, X5DPR-8G2+,
X5DPR-G2, X5DPRi-G2+, X5DPL-8G2, X5DPL-iG2, X5DPA-G, X5DPA-TG2 and
the X5DPR-TG2, the last two of which feature a four-port Serial
ATA controller with Zero Channel RAID 5 card (optional). Supermicro’s
E7501-based serverboards have also been integrated into complete
solutions with expertly designed chassis that include high availability
power supplies with redundant thermal control technology.
Supermicro’s line of workstation boards based on the E7505 chipset
includes the X5DA8, X5DAE, X5DAL-G and X5DAL-TG2. All support dual
Intel Xeon processors with clock speeds up to 3.06/3.0 GHz at a
533/400 MHz front side bus, Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, at least
8 GB DDR SDRAM and an AGP8x slot. The X5DA8 includes the AIC-7902
controller for dual channel Ultra320 SCSI and supports RAID 5 functions.
The X5DAL-TG2 features a four-port Serial ATA controller with Zero
Channel RAID 5 card (optional) and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.
SuperMicro’s E7501 and E7505-chipset serverboards have also been integrated into complete server/workstation solutions with 1U, 2U, 3U, 4U and tower chassis that include high availability power supplies and redundant airflow control technology.
