Supermicro Launches Intel® 915G & 925X-based Solutions
New P8SGA and P8SAA Motherboards Feature PCI-Express x16 along with Improved Video, Graphics & Memory Performance
San Jose, June 23, 2004 – Super Micro Computer, Inc., a manufacturer of high-quality, high-density computing motherboard and server solutions has officially launched its new single-processor boards, the SUPER P8SGA and SUPER P8SAA, based on the Intel® 915G and 925X chipsets. Combining PCI-Express x16 graphics interface bus architecture, improved memory performance, and impeccable quality in the most cost-effective package, these new P4 solutions are ideal for desktops and workstations.

Both boards are optimized for the new family of Intel Pentium 4 processors, which are built on the most advanced 90-nano manufacturing technology, run at speeds up to 3.6GHz, and feature a new and improved LGA775 processor interface. This new interface provides headroom for future technologies and improves electrical characteristics of the connection to the motherboard with a pin-less CPU design.

The SUPER P8SGA integrates the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (GMA 900) for improved graphics capability. In addition, for those who want to take advantage of the PCI-Express graphics performance, the P8SGA supports PCI-Express x16 graphics cards that will surely satisfy the most demanding graphics applications and games.

The SUPER P8SAA also features the PCI-Express x16 bus architecture for much improved throughput capability compared to the old standard PCI/AGP architecture. Combining support for up to 4GB of ECC DDR2-533/400 memory with the ICH6R 4-port SATA controller with RAID 0 and 1, the P8SAA presents an attractive new option for customers seeking a new high-end desktop or cost-effective workstation solution.
