Supermicro Releases Over 40 New Nocona-based Serverboards and Over 50 New Nocona-ready Chassis Models
True System Optimization Achieved by the World's Most Extensive Line of Server Solutions

Super Micro Computer, Inc., San Jose, CA, August 2, 2004 – Super Micro Computer, Inc. has launched the most comprehensive line of server solution products in the industry. Over 40 new models of server/workstation motherboards and over 50 new models of chassis start to ship with the release of Intel's E7520 (Lindenhurst) and E7320 (Lindenhurst-VS) chipsets. With the latest Xeon® processors (codenamed Nocona), these solutions support the newest technologies including PCI-Express, DDRII memory and Intel® Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T). Each of these solutions is optimized for different specific applications. With such an extensive line of new motherboard and chassis models, Supermicro has given its customers the power of choice.

One of the top new serverboards is the X6DH8-XG2 which supports up to 16GB of ECC registered DDR2 400 memory as well as five PCI-X expansion slots via two PXH bridges. Dual Gigabit Ethernet is included for high-bandwidth connectivity and Adaptec dual-channel Ultra 320 SCSI with zero-channel RAID for storage. Supermicro will feature the X6DH8-XG2 in three new high-performance SuperServers, including a 2U, a 3U and a 4U.

Supermicro has also introduced several next-generation lines of chassis specifically optimized to cope with 800MHz Xeon's increased power consumption and thermal emission. Some of these new chassis feature a special thermal design for 100% cooling redundancy, including the SC823, SC833, SC933, and the top-of-the-line SC743. Supermicro's 100% cooling redundancy means that even when any key fan fails, the system will still maintain 100% system performance.

"Supermicro is committed to offer customers not only the best quality but also the most comprehensive range of server solutions based on the very latest technologies," asserts Charles Liang, CEO and founder of Supermicro. "The release of the E7520 and E7320 chipsets marks yet another important milestone in the development of quality server products."

These exceptional new product offerings should accelerate the growth of Supermicro partners' market share and profit. In addition to the standard Lindenhurst chipset advantages like 64-bit capability, 800MHz FSB and PCI-Express support, these new Supermicro products provide a number of value-added features and options like universal PCI-X/PCI-Express slots, IPMI 2.0, and Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) fan support. Impressively early to market once again, Supermicro continues to deliver the latest technology with the best high-quality solutions ahead of the competition.

Supermicro Server Building Block Solutions®
Supermicro Server Building Block Solutions®, comprised of server motherboards, power supplies, chassis, and accessories, allow customers to build truly optimized servers. No other server manufacturer offers such a wide range of optimized server solutions to choose from. For instance, Supermicro usually designs several power supplies for each system, depending on the application, and almost all of the power supplies incorporate patented, in-house engineering with redundant cooling subsystems, vibration and acoustic control, as well as I2C for remote management.

SuperServer 6014P-8R
SuperServer 6014P-8R features a unique proprietary design that combines 560-watt redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and a full height, full-length universal expansion slot into a 1U form factor. For those who do not need redundant power, the SuperServer 6014P-8 supports two full height, full-length universal expansion slots for PCI-X 133 or PCI-Express x8. Supporting 800MHz FSB Xeon processors, the SuperServer 6014P-8R is the optimized solution for zero-downtime clusters.
