Supermicro Unveils 1U Twin™ Servers With Two DP Nodes In a Single 1U Chassis
Ideal for Dense Clusters, 6015T Series 1U Twin™ SuperServers Support Quad-Core & Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5300, 5100 & 5000 Series

San Jose, CA, January 8, 2007 - Super Micro Computer, Inc., a leader in application optimized, high performance server solutions, today unveiled its new 6015T Series 1U Twin™ SuperServers that support two DP motherboards in a 1U chassis. Supermicro's innovative 1U Twin systems increase computing density, while minimizing energy consumption, costs and space requirements.

"By combining two DP nodes into a 1U form factor, we can now supply space-constrained datacenters with double the computing density of existing 1U installations," asserts Charles Liang, president and CEO of Supermicro. "When loaded with four Quad-core Intel Xeon 5300 Series processors, 1U Twin SuperServers feature 16 processing cores for exceptional computing density."

With two nodes sharing a single 93% extreme high-efficiency power supply, 6015T Series servers achieve excellent power efficiency per node to deliver significant energy cost savings. These Supermicro 1U Twin servers require half as many server racks, chassis, power supplies, power cables and power strips, which further reduces costs. Additional cost savings associated with less IT space required as well as easier maintenance and management make these servers a very attractive option for almost any high performance server cluster environment.

"The unprecedented performance and energy efficiency of the Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5300 series is igniting new levels of platform innovation in the high volume server market," says Kirk Skaugen, vice president and general manager, server platforms group, Intel Corporation. "The new Supermicro 1U Twin servers are a great example of innovation meeting the increasing density requirements of high-performance computing cluster environments."
