Question |
We have several X8SIL-F with 1U 4 bay Supermicro system( not sure about model ), and we recently see some automatic shutdown/power off. Noticed every time right before that happens, we see in IPMI log it gives error( impitool sel ):
Type: OEM# 0x12
One of them is with older IPMI firmware, but another one is already with 2.66, but still gives that error, what that error mean? |

Answer |
This means there was a reboot with no memory errors reported. Please make sure your BIOS, IPMI fw, and PCI card firmware are up to date. If you are still having the same issue, please remove all PCI cards and CPU and then use a compressed air can to clean the sockets of dust. Also, please try to re-arrange the PCI cards in your system to rule out a bad PCI slot. |
