Question
I have X8SIL-V which is working fine with SATA HDD. After connecting 500GB SAS HDD to the X8SIL-V board I am unable see SAS HDD in BIOS or BOOT option or unable to install windows OS by either selecting IDE/RAID/AHCI in BIOS.
Answer
The intel 3420 chipset on your motherboard only supports SATA HDD. If you want to use SAS HDD on your system then you need to install SAS controller that supports SAS drives.
