To support the new generation Intel® Xeon® processor based motherboards, Supermicro has developed a new series of chassis called Revision K, which is an upgrade from previous well-established chassis product lines. All the new version of chassis models are backward compatible with all previous generation Intel-based motherboards. These "superset" chassis can satisfy all kind of application requirement, whether it's for server, workstation, or storage functionality, or whether it uses older generation motherboards.
