We're trying to better understand the configuration of IPMI alerts. In particular, the event severity.
If you look at the IPMI manual (we're using the X8DTH-iF motherboard so it's the AMI manual) in section 2.4.1 (Configuration – Alerts), bullet 7 talks about the configuration of Event Severity. The choices are: Disable All, Informational, Warning, Critical and Non-Recoverable.
We need to know which events fall into the Informational, Warning, Critical and Non-Recoverable categories.
There are lower non-recoverable, lower critical, lower non-critical, upper non-critical, upper critical, and upper non-recoverable.
Disable All – no alerts
Informational – other alerts
Warning – lower/upper non critical
Critical – lower/upper critical
Non-recoverable – lower/upper non-recoverable.
OS shutdown, or OS power up, or Chassis intrusion and other sensors that are not critical/non-recoverable would fall in to the Informational category (Recoverable ECC error for example)
