Question
Do we support network Offload Engine & 802.1Q Vlan Tagging in Supermicro Mother board?
Print
Answer
VLAN tagging is supported.

For TOE (TCP/IP Offload Engine), it was a technology used to be important 5 years ago, but today with the power of the Xeon CPU cores there is no need to offload any I/O data any longer. Intel introduced a technology to compete against TOE called IOAT. Today all of the IOAT stateless offloads are part of the controller, chipset and CPU. We don’t spend the time marketing the TOE features any more.
