I have an X10SLM-F board with BIOS R 1.0b running Windows Server 2008 R2.
I've also installed LAN Driver PRO_V18.4 but whenever I disconnect LAN2 (Intel i217LM) and
re-plug in the LAN cable, the LAN could no longer reconnect. I've tried
updating to BIOS R1.1 in website and problem remains.
How can I fix the LAN2 disconnect after unplug then plug issue?
The issue happens because BIOS ME (management engine) wasn't successfully
updated. Try the following to update ME in BIOS.
a) Set JPME2 jumper to pin 2-3 then flash BIOS.
b) Set JPME2 jumper to pin 1-2 after flashing BIOS.
JPME2 header is closed to fan 2 header and is the outer most
3 pins closest to board edge.
You might get an error message saying error when sending enable
message to ME after flashing BIOS.
If updated successfully, you should see ME FW status and SPS version
updated in BIOS under Intel Platform Server Services.
Make sure to check inside Windows to verify LAN2 fix.
