Does this server SSG-6047R-E1R36N allow for adding a second RAID array/volume made from the rear 12x drives, or can we only expand the current one made from front 24x drives? How is this done (what steps/software do we use)?

Yes, you may add 2nd RAID array/volume done via the Mega RAID Configuration Utility.
