We are having a problem starting up the our 1U supewrmicro SYS-6017R server after shutdown with the remove the powers cables
After the power on the monitor is printed the ipmi starting.
Terminated the IPMI init the server print on screen the bios info but after check ram speed this reboot into infinite loop
I try to remove ed insert the battery cr2032 on the motherboard but this not resolve the problem
The ipmi works and there is no information found in the event log
The mothermoad model is x9drw-if
Can you help me with this problem?
Please follow these steps for BIOS update and flash BMC firmware for x9drw-if.
(1) Preliminary:
- Download both BIOS and bmc/ipmi firmware from (Links & Resource of this link)
o https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X9DRW-iF.cfm
o Unzip and check readme file for BIOS update instruction
o Unzip and check SMM_IPMI_AA.pdf file for BMC FW flash instruction
(2) Steps:
- Power-down
- Remove power cord (unplug power)
- remove the JPG1 jumper (As picture shown below: pin 1 / 2)
- connect power
- reboot to DOS (please refer to downloaded instructions)
- update BIOS version
- flash BMC/IMPI version
- Power-down
- Remove power cord
- Insert back JPG1 jumper in (pin 1 / 2)
- Connect power
- reboot
