I have set up 6013P-8 with a NAS attached to the external SCSI port (B-Channel). Why does it take too long to detect the drives or sometimes it doesn't detect at all?

This is because of a SCSI termination conflict, and only the last device on the channel should be terminated; so if your NAS has termination enabled, then please put a jumper on JPA2 to disable the termination on the motherboard's external SCSI channel.
