Question
I have a X7DCL-I motherboard and have problems installing Cent OS 5.1 with IDE CD-ROM. But, I am able to install the OS with an USB CD-ROM without any issues. It seems that the error occurs only when I use an IDE-CDROM. Could you offer any suggestions?

Answer
The motherboard uses a third party IDE controller which is causing this issue. You can overcome this by typing in the following command before you start with the Linux OS installation.

linux all-generic-ide=1
