Installing a 2.5" Drive into a Drive Carrier
-
Place the drive carrier on a flat surface.
-
Remove the dummy drive, which comes pre-installed in the drive carrier, by removing the two locking tabs securing the dummy drive to the carrier.
-
Lift the dummy drive up and out of the carrier.
-
Insert a new drive into the carrier with the printed circuit board side facing downward and the connector oriented at the rear of the carrier.
-
Align the drive in the carrier so that the mounting holes in the drive align with the mounting holes in the carrier.
-
Secure the drive to the carrier with the two locking tabs.
-
Insert the drive carrier into the chassis drive bay, keeping the carrier oriented so that the hard drive is on the top of the carrier and the release button is on the right side. When the carrier reaches the back of the drive bay, the release handle will retract.
-
Push the handle in until the drive carrier clicks into the locked position.
