Question
Does my BIOS need to be updated to use NVMe-M.2-SSD installed onto the M.2-SSD carrier Add-On-Card(AOC-SLG3-2M2)?

Answer
The AOC-SLG3-2M2 card is a standard NVMe only M.2-SSD carrier card that installs into a standard PCIe x8 slot-connector. If the Motherboard supports NVMe and the slot connector can be Bifurcated( via BIOS ) to a  x4x4 configuration, then there should be no problem using the M.2-NVMe-SSD in the AOC-SLG3-2M2 card. Be sure to check the appropriate Motherboard Users Manual( via Supermicro online web page ) to verify that the MB supports NVMe.
