SAS846TQ Backplane with four fans connected to it. Is it just the D45, D47, D49, and D51 LED's?

In the case where the server is deployed with the lid closed how would we then receive information on fan failure?

Is there a way to receive this information from more than just the LED's stated above?

Yes, if you connect Fans to the backplane you need to set the jumpers to enable FAN, and check fan failed with D45, D47, D49, and D51 LEDs.

If using the motherboard with IPMI, you can connect the Fan to motherboard instead and check or get FAN status via IPMI
