We have a failure, seemingly the NVMe disk, on one of our Supermicro servers. The server hung up and doesn’t boot up anymore. Reinstalling VMWare fails too, resulting with the error relating to write.
The vmware version we are installing is ESXi 6.7.0.
The ESXi detects write issue…
Please follow these steps to fix the installing and the write issue
- Create OS installation Image in EFI mode: (select GPT Partition for UEFI Target System)
- Under Boot TAB: Set boot mode in “UEFI” [Legacy/Dual/UEFI]
- Under Advanced/PCIe/PCI/PnP config: Set slot OPRM in “EFI” [Disabled/Legacy/EFI]
- Under Advanced/PCIe/PCI/PnP: Set NVMe Firmware Source “AMI NATIVE” [Vendor Defined FW / AMI NATIVE]
