Question
I have a X5DA8 motherboard with a Xeon power supply which does not have the 4-pin 12v connector. Can I safely use this power supply on your motherboard?

You can use this power supply as long as you are not using AGP Pro video adapter; the 4-pin connector is what powers the AGP Pro slot. If you use regular AGP video adapters then you should be fine.
