Question
We have a SYS-620P-ARC16H that BMC reports IERR.  We have provided the BMC crash dump log and your TS replied that it is the CPU microcode is too outdated (0x0d0003d1) and recommended us to update to latest microcode (0x0d000433) through BIOS. We have a locked BIOS, is there anyway to update microcode without update BIOS?

Answer
If you are running Linux, you can update the kernel and cpu microcode patch.  When kernel loads up, it will compare the microcode installed in BIOS vs. the patched microcode.  If the microcode in kernel is newer, it will load the patched microcode.
