Question
I recently purchased a 745TQ case for a server setup. The motherboard I'm using is a Intel 5400 board with dual processors. The problem I've encountered is that the mounting holes for the CPU heat sinks do not match up with any holes in the server case. Neither Intel or Tyan (We have 2 motherboards) offer retention brackets for 5000 series processors. Intel states that the heat sinks must be mounted directly to the case.

If the motherboard form factor is E-ATX then it can mount the heat sink direct onto chassis stand-off. But if the motherboard is ATX form factor, the motherboard manufacture has to provide the CPU heat sink retention plates or the motherboard can not be used in a E-ATX chassis.
