Overview

This chapter provides a brief outline of the functions and features of the SuperServer SSG-542B-DE1CR90/E1CR90/E1CR60. The following provides an overview of the system specifications and capabilities.

Intel® Xeon® 6700/6500-series processors with P-cores or Intel® Xeon® 6700-series processor with E-cores with Socket LGA 4710 E2 and a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of up to 350 W

16 DIMM slots, supporting up to 512 GB MRDIMM with speeds of up to 8000 MT/s (1DPC), or up to 4 TB of 3DS RDIMM with speeds of up to 6400 MT/s (1DPC) or 5200 MT/s (2DPC)

Note: Intel® Xeon® 6700/6500-series processors with P-cores are required to support MRDIMM.

Expansion Slots

One PCIe 5.0 x8 (in x8) half-height, half-length (HHHL) slot

Three PCIe 5.0 x16 (in x16) HHHL slots

LAN: One RJ45 1 GbE Dedicated BMC LAN port

Drive Support

In addition to configuration-specific drive support, all configurations below feature two motherboard-mounted M.2 PCIe 4.0 x2 NVMe slots (M-key 2280/22110).

Note: NVMe support might require additional storage controller and/or cables; for details, see Optional Components.

For SSG-542B-DE1CR90 only:

Default: 90 top-loading hot-swap 3.5"/2.5" SAS/SATA drive bays

Option A: Two additional internal fixed 2.5" U.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe drive bays per node

For SSG-542B-E1CR90 only:

Default: 90 top-loading hot-swap 3.5"/2.5" SAS/SATA drive bays

Option A: Four additional rear hot-swap 2.5" U.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe drive bays

Option B: Two additional internal fixed 2.5" U.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe drive bays

Note: Separately from Options A and B, the SSG-542B-E1CR90 can support two U.2 NVMe slots (on left side of system rear) instead of the two M.2 NVMe slots mentioned above. These two configurations are mutually exclusive.

For SSG-542B-E1CR60 only:

Default: 60 top-loading hot-swap 3.5"/2.5" SAS/SATA drive bays

Option A: Four additional rear hot-swap 2.5" U.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe drive bays

Option B: Two additional internal fixed 2.5" U.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe drive bays
