I got this problem with MB X8SIE-F + Adaptec 71605.
I use Intel RAID for Windows and the Adaptec RAID for Data.
I cannot boot to windows, but I have selected the Intel RAID array as boot device. When I remove the Adaptec RAID card, the PC boots without issues. What is the problem?

It's likely that your system is running out of ROM memory space. Since you boot from your Intel RAID array i suggest to turn off the OPROM for the PCIe slot with the Adaptec card. This means the OPROM is not loaded during boot, but the card will still work in your OS.
