When I setup IPMI Date and Time configuration for UTC-08:00 and enable NTP and DST, no matter which NTP servers I use, the time is never correct. You can see the time greyed out but listed as 01:15:45. The date is correct. How do I know what time the BMC thinks it is?
This could be an issue with the NTP server you are using. To test this, you can use the list of publicly available servers:
http://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi
From there, choose the two locations closest to you (the list is for North America, you might need to use a different list if the locations are not near you). Then Add the IP of the two closest location as the Primary NTP and Secondary NTP server. Do this by going into the IPMI's webGUI and under Configuration > Date & Time. Change from NTP Disable to NTP Enable. If you have Daylight Saving, check the box. After that, hit Save. Then refresh to check if your time matches correctly.
