What model 48-port switch do you recommend for his network?

For this customer I would recommend X3348S/SR (as they have 48 of 10G ports)and he can go with below options for the cabling/SFP+ transceivers..

.



- SFP+ Direct Attach Cables.


• CBL-0347L - One-Meter length.


• CBL-0348L - Three-Meter length.


• CBL-0349L - Five-Meter length.

Or



- SFP+ Transceiver.


• AOC-E10GSFPSR - SFP+ Transceiver for use with fiber.


cable connections.

Or.


Another SFP+ transceiver option is AOC-TSR-FS.
