I have a X8ST3-F system with an Intel Xeon W3690 CPU and 4x 4 GB PC3-10600 DIMMs installed. When I power up the server, the fans spin up but I never get any video. What could be the root cause?

If your PCB is rev 1.1, then it can’t support W3690 CPU. You will need PCB rev 2.0. Otherwise, you need to use Xeon 5500, W3500 or Core i7-9xxx (Quad-core) for PCB rev 1.1.
