I have a question regarding the Super P6DGE motherboard. I installed it with two processors. One processor is a Pentium II 450 MHz. The second processor is a Pentium II 350 MHz. I installed Windows XP Professional after that. Everything is running fine, but the problem is that Windows XP is only recognizing the processors running at 233 MHz for each one. I am currently running BIOS R. 3.0. I see that you have a newer BIOS update, but is that what I need to do? I donâ??t wish to update the BIOS if it is not necessary. Is there a BUS speed jumper that is not positioned correctly? Would that have anything to do with it? I set the processor jumpers to recognize a 450 MHz processor using the illustration provided in the motherboard manual.
You will have some very serious problems mixing incompatible MPS processors. Each processor must be the same speed. Exact processors must have the same L2 cache size. Exact processors must be of the same family. Exact processors must have the same FSB speed. One problem is that the motherboard is set to 66MHz. You should remove the jumper on JP11 or at lease set it to auto so the FSB speed will be 100MHz. Even if this increases the processor clock speed you will have serious problems and there is no way to make something work so far out of spec.
