Question
We built systems with X9SRA boards. Every time when we boot to the OS the system event log will log error message, "Driver PCI returned invalid ID for a child device(FFFFFFFFFFFF00)". We tried with Windows 7 and W2K8R2, same issues occurred. This error seemed to be non-critical as our servers continued to run fine. What caused the error message to appear?

Answer
This issue occures because there are two USB 3.0 host controllers with the same vendor ID and same product ID used in the same system, in this case X9SRA board. As a result this will cause the event log to report the error message.
