Question
We are using your 847E26-R1400LPB with 36 3TB drives connected to an Areca card. We have drives dropping out of the array for some reason and there is no fault LED indicating which drives failed. Why?

Answer
If desktop grade HDD's are used then it is likely they are failing due to the FAN vibrations. Supermicro highly recommends the use of Enterprise grade HDD's.
The reason the failed drive is not marked with the fault LED is that Areca cards use a seperate connector for the SGPIO signal, this cannot be connected to our expander backplane. Essentially the 2 are incompatible.
