We have a platform 2028TR-HTR and would like to install a PCI RAID card in order to add H/W RAID functionality.

Answer
You can't use an add-on raid controller to connect to the backplane.
Each node comes with a daughter board that connects to the backplane supporting up to 6 hard drives.

The backplane has no ports to connect to an add-on raid controller.
