I have two backplane BPN-SAS3-213A and BPN-SAS3-216A, Could you tell me what the side-band management protocol is?

Answer
The sideband protocol is SGPIO, i.e. SFF-8485 standard. The sideband is integrated to the MiniSAS HD connector, i.e. SFF-8643 standard. Each of the MiniSAS HD connector supports 4 devices with one SGPIO.
