Question
Is watchdog implemented differently for X9DBU and X10DRW?

Answer
The Watchdog we implement in X9 & X10 DP are the same. It’s implemented in IPMI. The JWD1 jumper is attached to it.

Please note that the watchdog mentioned in IPMI spec is a separate watchdog from BIOS. It’s a different subroutine in IPMI firmware.

We also implemented 2nd watchdog in CPLD for X10DSC+.

Those without BMC has watchdog in Super IO.

Intel usually refers it to the watchdog in Intel chipset. We don’t have the setting in our BIOS. The customer can enable it through I/O control. They need to write their own software. It’s not recommended, though.
