Question
I am using RedHat 7.0 on P4DMS-6GM board, but I cannot run this OS using "linux" kernel, only "linux-up" can work successfully. Is this problem with the board?

Answer
This problem is caused by RedHat linux kernel smp. "linux" is running on kernel smp while "linux-up" is running on uni-processor mode. The P4DMS-6GM and any other board that support Intel Xeon will encounter this issue since the old RedHat kernel smp has some problem with hyper-threading. You should update your OS to RedHat 7.3 or newer.
