We use Supermicro products extensively and have a couple of questions from our end users. Is the shipping box that the chassis comes in adequate for reshipment of a complete server? Does Supermicro have a set of diagnostics that can be used on the server boards? Any information would be helpful.
The shipping box is strong enough to ship a complete system. We only became concerned with the 942 chassis because it can hold ten drives and we really feel that is to many. As long as you ship 7 drives or less there should be no issue. We are in the development stage of making a set of diagnostic tools. At present we use commercial third party utilities such as PC Checkit etc.
