Question
Why does the NIC LED come on whenever I plug the power cable into P4DPR-6GM-Q?

Answer
This board has an option to use IPMI 1.5 so when you first insert a power cable, the Gigabit LAN LED will stay on until you power on the system even though there's no LAN cable is connected. This LED comes on because the standby voltage is being supplied to allow an IPMI card to communicate with outside systems. Once system detects that there's no IPMI, it will cut off this standby voltage.
