I have an X5DP8-G2 motherboard with BIOS 1.4b, but I am unable to change the overheat temperature inside BIOS while the distributor's one can.

Probably you have a board with Rev number less than 1.2. Starting with board Rev 1.2, we add this feature on X5DP8-G2. All previous revisions do not have this feature.
