Question
I want to use one of your chassis as a drive enclosure without a motherboard installed in the chassis. Will I have issues powering on the power supply without motherboard?

Supermicro cannot recommend this use of our chassis. Power supplies not only require a start signal from the motherboard, but also expect to see a load on all voltage rails. if the load is not present, the power supply will not start. Please use a drive chassis specifically design for this application such as mobile racks.
