When I install 1600MHz XMP memory into either the X8SAX or C7X58 motherboard, it only shows 1333MHz or 1066 MHz. How can I make them run at 1600MHz?
The X8SAX doesn’t support 1600MHz XMP memory, only the C7X58 does. Our BIOS downgrades the 1600MHz XMP memory to 1066MHz or 1333MHz automatically in case our customers have certain vendor memory that doesn’t work probably at 1600MHz. The system will boot up at 1066MHz and they will know it’s not a dead motherboard.
In order to make the 1600MHz XMP function to work, you can simply enable this item in BIOS:
In C7X58, go to “Advanced -> Advanced Chipset Control -> QPI & IMC Configuration -> Performance Tuning Mode”. “Auto” = protection, “XMP” = 1600MHz.
In C2SBX+: “Advanced -> Advanced Chipset Control -> XMP function” “Auto” = protection, “Extreme” = 1600MHz, “Disable” = no XMP.
