Question
Is your AOC-SGP-I2 compatible with X10SAE board? The card was detected when plugged into slot 6 but it failed to be detected when plugged into slot 4.
Answer
X10SAE supports flexible PCIe Gen 3 configurations. PCIe Gen 3 slots are automatically configured by hardware as a single x16 or two x8. Because PRSNT# signals are not connected on AOC-SGP_I2, it will not trigger the switch built into slot 4 to split the PCIe signals to two x8, and thus the card was not detected when it was plugged into slot 4.
