Question
I have X9DRE-TF+ motherboard revision 1.01 with latest 3.0a bios installed but the system would only boot with the E5-2600V1 CPUs and not on the E5-2600V2 CPUs. How can I fix it?
Answer
Your motherboard may have been shipped from Supermicro before our 10/14/2013 hardware ECO release, which is required by Intel for the motherboard to support Ivy Bridge class of CPUs. The hardware ECO requires a rework of the motherboard to replace and add onboard components for the CPU to work. In this case, if you have board revision 1.01 or 1.02 purchased on or before 10/14/2013, it requires that you RMA the board for rework.
