Question
I tried a known good single DIMM in each of the slots and each time it hung at the same point, "System Initializing... 78". I also cleared CMOS with no luck, same result.
I don't have any slower DDR4 memory, all I have is what SuperMicro sent me with the other servers, which are all running fine. What do we try now?
Answer
SYS-6028R-TT uses X10DRi-T motherboard.
Code 78 means it needs BIOS Recovery (although you'd tried a few suggested simple debugs in hope that it may resolve).
You may refer to motherboard manual MNL-1491.PDF (please see attachment) section C-3 for BIOS Recovery procedures.
