Question We are installing windows 10 on a X9 mainboard and have the following issue. When we shutdown and boot the system it will hang at the windows logo or boot to a black screen after the windows logo during the first boot, the second boot there is no issue. Answer There is a resolution for this which only applies to fresh installations of windows 10. Please install windows 10 without LAN cable attached after the installation is finished, install intel inf chipset drivers 10.1.2.8 after this installation is finished please reboot. Once the system has booted again insert the LAN cable and run windows update. If you've followed the steps above you will be able to shutdown and boot the system without issues.
