Question
I’m working on a 4U SC846 Case and placing an X9DRD-7LN4F motherboard into it. I do not understand the spacer sizing convention and was wondering what size spacer/offsets to get. Also, are they supposed to be metal offsets to metal case bottom for grounding to the case or use what I see as some kind of nonconductive, synthetic O-ring, either on the underside of the motherboard or on top of the motherboard under the offset screws?
Answer
We don’t use O-ring in the chassis. What the end user needs should be standoffs. The standoffs should be included in the chassis accessory box. If it has been lost, please contact our RMA dept. The dimension is #6-32(thread) x 6.5mm (standoff height) x 3.5mm (thread length)
