Question
When install Red Hat 8.1 with Kernel 4.9 or above versions on X11SSW-TF/4TF MB, there are error messages of ISH (Intel Sensor Hub) device hw start failed and PCI driver initialization failed. Can you please help advise?
Answer
According to Intel, for the ISH function, only “Device ID” of ISH is used on Greenlow platform X11SS_ series motherboards to support installing Non-NVMe RAID drivers, however, the HW Chipset doesn’t support it.
In this case, Linux kernel version 4.9 start to support ISH and based on “A135” of Device ID to check and initialization, because of above reasons, it is expected to see hardware initialization failed.
