This is regarding the TurboBoost functionality. I noticed that the optimized defaults keep this enabled, but there is an issue for us as we need to have a consistent CPU clock for our low latency applications. Is there any way to ensure TurboBoost not changing frequencies?
Hyper-Speed HFT SKUs have a BIOS feature that keeps CPU frequency consistent at maximized speeds. To read the accurate Hyper-Speed frequency use i7z (Linux), Turbostat (Linux), or CPU-Z (Windows). There may be some commands that need to be entered at the OS level though, for example in RHEL 6 Linux: Add intel_idle.max_cstate=0 processor.max_cstate=1 into /boot/grub/grub.conf boot command line).
